Before we left Moeraki, we took Dan and one of his roommates, an American named Chris, down for a fish off the wharf in town. It was unsuccessful, but the sun was shining and it was a beautiful morning. We may have converted a couple more people into anglers as well!

We made our way to Dunedin in the afternoon. The drive was uneventful and we arrived in the evening at Sam and Connie’s place. They are a couple that we had worked with in Waipu. They are currently renting a unit in a mansion (“mansion” is not an exaggeration). It was built by the founder of Briscoes. The man who currently owns the building, Bruce, shares the unit with them. It is a 3 bedroom with massive ceilings, fireplaces and an excellent kitchen. We had a lovely meal cooked for us and a great visit. We spent the night there and may look for some work in Dunedin for a few weeks.
